| Confidently Beautiful |

Look at me smiling from ear to ear in the cover picture😊.. Honestly though, I haven’t always been this happy..

I used to be the girl that never liked her body😔..

Growing up, I was really really thin plus my hands and feet were tiny.. My lips were very full and then to make matters worse, I grew very fast.. So, I was officially the tallest girl in my class..

The worst time ever was during morning assembly.. I always had to stand at the back because I was the tallest. Lord knows how much I prayed to be just normal like the rest of my classmates..

I remember eating all sorts of food to gain weight.. That was the funniest part because it seemed the more food I ate, the slimmer I got..

Growing up, thin girls were mocked as being “lepa“, while plus size girls were also laughed at as being “orobo“.. So whether you were slim or chubby, you got a terrible nickname..

It was at this point, it finally dawned on me that you can never please the world.. People will always have a standard of how you should be and how you should live your life..

But the truth is we all have different body shapes, different sizes and different clocks..

True beauty comes from within.. Its all about your heart and your personality..

So, right now, what I focus on is developing true inner beauty.. I try to be friendly and nice, to help others and to make amazing friends..

In all honesty, I will never be 100% happy with my body but that’s okay because no one is perfect..

In the meantime, I love my body..

The fullness of my lips and the sway of my hips, all of it is beautiful..

So dear reader, never ever let anyone body shame you..

You are you!..

You are uniquely beautiful!..

That is your power so embrace it!..

Until next time, please stay safe..

And don’t forget to drop a comment on what you loved most about this post..

  3. Aww, I absolutely love the positivity you’ve got going on in this post! I have always been the tall skinny girl as well – so you’re not alone on that hun ❤ But, I think I've just grown to not care so much anymore, like I've waisted too much time thinking that I was too tall and too skinny. So now, just like you, I try to represent a sort of beauty that comes just as well from the inside as the out side. It's so horrible that people 'have' to pick on each other to make themselves feel better. Like come on! Have some respect for each other here. Anyway, what a great post!! xx

Nice Article. Indeed many have failed in life as a result to yielding to what others say and feel about them.
One this everyone should understand is God has a reason for making you the way he deed and what ever reason it is, is to Glorify Him self.
Remember when people ask me why are you short and I tell them am not short, am just sportable.
Because if we are in a gathering and you can’t see me, then be rest assured that you can hear my voice from any end.
    Much love for this dear

I’m really glad I got to read this post. Its very nice having to share an experience with someone who understands perfectly well. I went through the same ordeal; people said I was too tall. It got so bad that I had to start slouching and sometimes bending my knees just so I could reduce my height. Thank God I no longer care about what people say anymore and I am now confident in my own body. But I must confess it was really difficult.

Great post, Tinu, very inspiring for all girls and women of all body shapes. You’re right, beauty lies within, and once women accept the fact that they can’t please everyone, they will be more at peace with how they look. It’s nice to meet you! 🌼

Excellent post. It’s such a shame that society encourages people to fling hurtful epithets at each other on the basis of appearance. Cultivating ‘inner beauty’ is a worthy goal!
